Math – What’s happening?
Here are some updates about the work that Alina and Madeleine are doing at the moment:
My digital bridges mate Madeleine and I texted a little bit.
After madleine and I got to know each other, I have sent her a task out of the test. At first it was very difficult for her because in Sweden they always calculate with three current numbers, but then she solved the task. After that she sent me a task, too. For me it was also difficult to solve it. In conclusion it’s very interesting and helpful to work with her.

Digital Bridges – Transnational Project Meeting (April 19th-21st)
After three days of intense work we returned safely from the “Digital Bridges” steering-committee meeting at Rudbeck Sollentuna Kommuns Gymnasium late Friday evening.
We took the chance of meeting and talking to all Swedish colleagues being already involved in the “Digital Bridges”-project as well as to those who want to get involved in the near future. It was a great opportunity to consolidate our energy, discuss obstacles that had occured and then, of course, to find solutions and to further the activities in various subjects on a new level.
After all, I can say I am really happy having joined my colleagues Mrs Mahlke-Harms, Mrs Lorenzana and Mr Heitmann on this trip which did not only give me a deeper insight into the project as a whole but also made me very optimistic for the specific activities ahead of us including the opportunity for the students to meet in person soon.
As I know that a lot of work has already been done and still will have to be done I would like to thank all my German colleagues for their commitment, in particular Mrs Mahlke-Harms for her excellent organisation of our trip to Sweden, and Mrs Lorenzana and Mr Heitmann for their productive contribution and input.
I would also like to send a big “thank you!” to our Swedish friends at Rudbeck. It was a pleasure to experience their warm hospitality and to work together with them. A special “thanks!” goes to project manager Ted Weisberg who again organised the summit very well in terms of the actual working sessions as well as the interesting fringe events that included a school tour, lesson attendances, transport services, a fantastic dinner at a Swedish restaurant and a wonderful evening at his place (also a big hug and thank you to his charming wife Agneta!).
Finally I would like to thank all the students being or becoming engaged in “Digital Bridges”. You are the ones who will make this project come alive! I wish you all the best for your project work!
Although I know that there will be challenges in the future, after this trip to Rudbeck Gymasium I am absolutely positive that our shared project will become a big success for all of us! Good luck!

Math – introduction videos
To introduce themselves to each other, the students from Sollentuna and Kassel created short videos about themselves and their schools:
Politics and Economics
Hello, my name is Sarah.
Together with my classmates Lilli and Patrik I participate in the Digital-Bridges Project in the subject politics and economics. Participating in this project I expect to learn more about politics and economics especially in Sweden. Making international connections and improving my English skills are other advantages. At this point we have created a video to introduce ourselves. We are very excited to get to know the Swedish students attending this project as well. It is a great opportunity to be part of such a project. We are really looking forward to work and discuss important topics together with pupils of another nationality.
Hello my name is Lilli.
With two classmates I participate in the Digital-Bridges-Project in the subject politics and economics. From the participation I expect to improve my language skills in English. Furthermore I want to learn something about international politics and relationships. I hope that we can work good with the swedish together. Our group project is to find more about K+S a big concern in Kassel which works with the chemicals Kalium and Salt which is used for fertilizer.
I am looking forward searching informations about it. Our group has planned to interviw some workers of K+S and I am excited what their reactions and responses to our questions will be. We made a video to introduce ourselves.
Digital Bridges – History
We have decided to take part in this project, because it brings only positive aspects with itself, for us: we get to know other students, from another country, who are interested in the same field as us and we can exchange, individually, about different subjects in said fields.
Till present, we found many interesting things about the Thirty Years‘ War and the Counter-Reformation in Europe. We have already compiled a presentation for our class and presented it in front of our classmates and teacher.
We hope for a good cooperation and lots of fun with our Swedish-German project!
Politics and Economics
When our teacher told us about the “Digital Bridges“ project, we were really excited. It sounded great to us to work on a project with students from a different country. We chose the subject politics because we all like this subject an we wanted to get to know more about political topics that affect both countries. Furthermore, we hope to improve our english by taking part in this project. Read More

Digital-bridges
I`m joyning the Digital-bridges-project because I`m interested in the Swedish culture and in arts.
Farther it is a very unique experience to work with other schools and students from different countries. Also I am really looking forward to being a part of the student exchange (that is hopefully taking place). It will strengthen our cooperation and the exchange students will get an insight in the German culture, the German life and in Kassel respectively the Documenta. Read More
